A middle-aged farming couple investing their life savings to build their dream house.

The Challenge

The result of a collapsed volcano, the crater-island of Corvo, Portugal, suffers from an ongoing battle with humidity that causes accelerated mould growth in local properties.  In addition, the couple's new dream house would be fitted with tiled floors which could be unpleasantly cold during winter.

The Solution

100W/m² Warmup undertile heating mats were installed under the tile floors and laid onto 2cm thick insulation boards to maximise heating efficiency while Warmup XSTAT thermostats were the designated heating control for the system.

The Result

The underfloor heating successfully kept the humidity at bay.  At the same time, it ensured the tiled floors were not chilly in winter.  The thermostats were easy to use and offered great individual control in the respective rooms, enhancing heating efficiency and enabling cost savings.

And best of all, the satisfied clients are able to enjoy their new home in comfort.
