The demand for Warmup’s radiant under floor heating products continues to rise, as New Zealand home owners brace themselves for the chilly winter months ahead.
Up until a few weeks ago, there were real concerns regarding the drought situation affecting many parts of the country. Recent downpours have proved a god send for many farmers in particular, however with the arrival of the rain has also come a sudden drop in weather temperatures.
For many New Zealanders, ensuring constant warmth in the home over winter is an expensive challenge. The costs involved are determined by a number of factors, including the size and age of the home, the existence and/or quality of insulation, as well as the number of occupants.
According to New Zealand’s Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA), many home owners are using heating products that require a lot of energy to heat and run, making for exceptionally high power bills.
Heating and cooling accounts for almost 35% of all the energy an average New Zealand home consumes. Despite this, the majority of our homes are under-heated by international standards.
There are a number of badly designed and constructed homes with inadequate insulation, however ECCA said there were many things home owners could do to make their home warmer, healthier and more energy efficient.
Warmup’s radiant under floor heating system is recognised as one of the most effective and energy efficient solutions for heating the home. Heating from the ground up ensures an even distribution of radiant heat where required, as opposed to heat pumps which emit heat towards the ceiling, heating the head rather than the entire body.
